OMESTI Group of Malaysia has received a Letter of Award [LOA] from Telekom Malaysia Berhad [TM] for the implementation of a new Business Support Systems [BSS] platform. The platform is set to drive innovation and transform the national telco provider’s interaction with its internal and external users.
The new platform will deploy Huawei Technologies’ BSS technology for the roll-out of a state-of-the-art integrated Customer Relationship Management [CRM] and Billing Systems architecture.
OMESTI’s scope of work includes design, development, customisation, configuration, delivery, installation, integration, conversion, migration, testing, commissioning and training of the TM Business Support System. The project, valued at RM95,588,733, will span a period of two years starting two weeks from the end of the Movement Control Order currently in force across Malaysia.
Chia Yong Wei, Executive Director of OMESTI Berhad, said, “This is a major milestone achievement for the OMESTI Group. We view this as a long-term innovation partnership with this major client and look forward to enabling this cutting-edge solution for Malaysia’s national telco. Huawei’s BSS platform is regarded as best-in-class and will deliver a range of benefits for TM and its customers.”
In accordance with the terms of the LOA, the renewal of the application software subscription for Years 3, 4 and 5 at a total price of RM104,991,516 will be subject to TM Management’s approval and based on the number of verified active monthly BSS subscribers.
Fully customer-centric, the platform combines CRM and billing into one system, enabling digital transformation and helping carriers achieve efficient, flexible, and agile operations. A key feature is the fact that the BSS platform supports 5G, a major enabler for digital transformation and the full implementation of smart, inter-connected solutions.
TM is spearheading Malaysia’s drive to become 5G-ready with a commitment to progressively deploy its converged 5G core network towards accelerating the delivery of 5G services nationwide. The initiative kicked off earlier this year with full-fledged 5G live trials conducted under the 5G Demonstration Project [5GDP] in Langkawi and Subang Jaya. The 5G network infrastructure has also since been rolled out at Menara TM in Kuala Lumpur.
“This BSS technology also holds significant potential for achieving optimum efficiency and cost-savings in a range of sectors beyond telecommunications as more industries embrace IoT, cloud services and multiple device applications,” added Chia.
OMESTI was recently confirmed as Authorised System Integration Partner by Huawei Technologies and has also been authorised as a Reseller of Huawei software, giving access to the technology giant’s extensive portfolio of cloud and IoT solutions.
