Malaysian technology solutions provider OMESTI Berhad has teamed up with Group company Microlink Solutions Berhad and associate company Ho Hup Construction Company Bhd to contribute 1 million face masks and 20,000 gloves for Malaysia’s frontline workers during the COVID-19 crisis. The presentation was made to the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs YB Dato’ Seri Hamzah bin Zainudin at the Kementerian Dalam Negeri [KDN] in Putrajaya. Also present at the simple ceremony were Chia Yong Wei, Executive Director of OMESTI and Datuk Derek Wong, CEO of Ho Hup Construction.
“We really want to do whatever we can during this crisis to help the most vulnerable,” said Datuk Derek. “We were able to source the supply of these masks and gloves from China through one of our partners and arranged for them to reach here as quickly as possible. I want to thank the suppliers and the logistics teams for their support in making this happen so smoothly.”
The masks will be distributed by the Group to Malaysia's frontliners, including the Royal Malaysian Police, RELA, Immigration Department and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency. “We are truly humbled by the continued dedication and sacrifice being made by all the frontline workers in these unprecedented circumstances arising out of the COVID-19 crisis. They are an inspiration to all of us to play our part in helping to break the chain of infection and save lives.” said Mr Chia.
The Group is also working behind the scenes to accelerate the availability of a number of its technology innovations to ensure business continuity for companies as they seek new ways to sustain productivity during the crisis period. Among these innovations are solutions for virtual court proceedings, Digital HR, and e-payments.
